Amanda Van Deusen recently joined the Energy team of Haynes & Boone, LLP as a Professional Landman in June of 2014. Ms. Van Deusen has been putting her legal and oil and gas skills to good use as a Senior Landman in the energy industry here in Houston, Texas since 2004. She is a Certified Professional Landman with twelve years of experience in the energy industry, most recently in multi-billion dollar acquisitions of North American Shale plays by large exploration and production companies or non-operators (foreign and domestic) related to producing properties and undeveloped leasehold. She also specializes in acquisition due diligence, land title examination, operations, leasing, and energy finance transactions. Prior to joining Haynes and Boone in 2014, Amanda worked in-house as a Senior Landman for various energy and land management companies and has held similar positions with other law firms.
Ms. Van Deusen received her Law Degree from the University of Houston in 2003 and her Bachelor of Arts from Austin College in 1995. Currently, Ms. Van Deusen is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and the Houston Association of Professional Landmen (HAPL). She is a Director on the HAPL Board and an ongoing Chairman for the HAPL Technical Workshop that is broadcast by webinar to multiple locations across the country each Spring.
Amanda was presented with the HAPL “Above and Beyond” Award, given to the HAPL member who over the past year has contributed above and beyond what was expected in the performance of their duties and responsibilities. Amanda's recognition was for her contributions to the Annual Technical Workshop which broke records in overall attendance and number of remote locations across the country.
Amanda Van Deusen is a native Houstonian and she and her husband, Paul Van Deusen, have two adorable sons, Jay and Justin, and the Van Deusen Family currently resides in Spring, Texas.
