Dear IPAA Member:
The White House recently proposed updates to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). This modernization effort will help streamline the permitting process for a variety of infrastructure industries, including oil and natural gas.NEPA's rules have not been comprehensively updated since 1978, shortly after the first personal computer emerged. Since that time, NEPA reviews have been used as a tool by environmentalists to gin up opposition, create bureaucratic roadblocks, and delay progress through litigation – adding unreasonable costs and hampering economic activity.Unsurprisingly, those who want to block progress oppose NEPA reform. That is why we need your voice in favor of NEPA modernization. Please help us by submitting these comments to the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), which is conducting public input on the proposed rule. It is imperative that the Administration hear from those in favor of the updates as they will most certainly hear from those opposed. Participating in this process is a critical step to ensuring these changes stand as the final rule will ultimately be challenged in court by environmental groups. It is important for the Administration to build a record of support for their defense of the rule.To submit comments:1. Click here to visit the comment page2. Fill out the comments section.
