    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Salary:  $3,742.67 - $5,416.66 per month commensurate with experience.

    Job Description Summary:

    This position will be responsible for creating, analyzing, interpreting and maintaining land related documentation, reports, electronic data, hard-copy files and other related information, as well as clerical duties, all in support of the System Energy Resource Office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and interpret provisions, terms and obligations of land related contracts, agreements, documents, reports and statements and then input the extracted information into the data management system. Create and maintain records in the data management system and in the hard-copy filing system. Perform basic calculations to analyze ownership interests, revenue interests, terms, consideration and other basic land management related calculations and then input results into the data management system.
    • Monitor land related contracts, agreements, documents, reports and statements using the data management system to ensure reported compliance with terms and obligations. Inform appropriate individual of any evidence of non-compliance or other anomalies.
    • General clerical and office administrative tasks.
    • Review incoming Division Orders and compile documents necessary for the review and analysis of the associated interests and well.
    • Log incoming revenues and revenue statements. Notify appropriate member entity of receipt of revenues. Review statements for abnormalities, incorrect deductions or other suspected issues. Inform appropriate individual of suspected issues.
    • Review state/public websites for property ownership, oil & gas exploration and production operations, easements and other land related information. Compile, summarize and distribute information in support of System Energy Resource Office team members and projects.
    • Collaborate with other offices and departments in an effort to compile data, create, submit and distribute annual revenue and ownership data to appropriate individuals, departments and government entities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Two years related experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of oil and gas contracts, leases, deeds, and title documents. Knowledge of oil and gas resources.
    • Experience running full title, researching well specific production information in Texas, and identifying leases held by production and minerals available for leasing.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines.
    • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
    • Out-of-town travel.
    • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Petroleum Engineering, Land Management, Energy Management or related field.
    • In-house experience in an oil and gas company.
    • Registered Landman, Registered Professional Landman, or Certified Professional Landman certification from the American Association of Professional Landmen.
    • Knowledge of basic oil and gas legal principles. Experience researching well specific production information in other states. Knowledge of foreign states' oil and gas resources. Geographic Information Systems mapping experience.
    • Membership in American Association of Professional Landmen.
