On June 27th we lost a great person,  Long time AAPL member Landman and credit to our profession.  David J. Sorenson was a mentor to me for many, many years.  David was 97 years old.....He set the bar for ethics as high as it can be set....What a tremendous person he was....I will always miss him dearly....

What a great man, he will be missed.  When I was in Roswell, I volunteered with United Way and Dave was on "my list".  One year I ran into him and he said, "Shari, why haven't you come by for United Way?  I have the fine linens, china and crystal out just waiting for you!!"  What a generous soul he was...a legacy.

I had the exceptional pleasure of knowing Dave for more than 40 years.  My father, who was his contemporary, considered Dave to be one of his closest friends.  He was an exceptional oil man and one of the most selfless individuals I will ever know.  Our annual fly-fishing trips to northern New Mexico were always a high point for me and my brothers.   Seeing him and some of his closest friends and family members on these trips was always an event that just didn't last long enough.  He will be missed and always remembered.
