    Topic: 2020 Energy Deals

2020 was a year of uncertainty for the energy industry with the COVID-19 pandemic lowering demand and creating a surplus of supply. Initially, the pandemic caused a reduction in energy deals, but transactions started to rebound in the second half of the year. Join us as we take a look back at the deals that got done (or didn't get done), and what that may indicate about where the industry is headed in 2021.

Melissa Munson practices in the areas of business and energy and natural resources law.  Her practice focuses on energy transactions, including those involving oil and gas exploration and production and upstream and midstream asset acquisitions and dispositions.  Melissa's transactional experience includes advising clients in connection with the formation of joint ventures and joint development projects, general corporate matters including entity formation and corporate formalities, and other commercial transactions. She also has experience conducting due diligence on energy assets and corporate entities.

Kacie Bevers focuses her practice in the area of energy law, including her title practice where she specializes in division order title opinions, and her transactional practice, where she counsels clients on due diligence review for the acquisition of oil and gas interests.  She gained hands-on experience as a field landman prior to her work with the firm, uniquely equipping her with the necessary problem-solving and issue-spotting skills required to successfully represent clients.  Mrs. Bevers serves on the firm's Diversity Committee and is the Chair of the Working Parents Alliance.
