Thank you for the link.  Please be aware there are two different loans that the government is offering.  This is not the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) that was included in the latest stimulus bill (CARES Act).  Here is some information on the difference.

Applying is the easy part. Getting someone to call you to discuss your situation is almost nonexistent

I likewise was able to apply fairly easily. Now receiving the money, we will see. If you do receive it, I advise holding on to as much as you can and only use it of you must, until work reopens. I have been through many of these cycles, and this one is very different, with the current spat between America and Saudi Arabia and Russia, and you certainly can not trust either Of them to do what they say they will do. Compounded by the coronavirus and that obviously is affecting our work, and it's an election year, so politics are always at the front. Stay safe and best to everyone.

Has anyone found a reliable source to check on status?  I called SBA...I was caller number 1,439.

I applied once under the original system, then again when it was changed and a third time when it was changed to the short and sweet online app.

I received a confirmation number but radio silence since.

    Thanks

It does appear that the amount will be capped at 1,000 per employee.  I don't really want to take out a loan as supposedly unemployment in Ohio should be somewhat similar.  It appears you can show payroll to yourself as a sole proprietor and have the actual loan forgiven.  The interest rate on the PPP appears much better at 1÷ vs 3.75÷ but the PPP has a repayment term of 2 years vs up to 30 years on the EIDL that this grant is part.  I did apply for the EIDL but am trying to figure out if either is really worth it based on enhanced unemployment if it ever actually works in Ohio.  I will try to keep everyone updated as far as Ohio progresses.

There has been some confusion about the special EIDL; in theory (per the cares act) the grant amount will be $10,000, not the $1000/employee that some sba offices were quoting. Additionally, it is a grant, not a loan, but can be tied into another EIDL at that reduced rate. In theory, this grant is used to replace lost revenue, not specifically for payroll purposes.

All that being said the SBA is completely overwhelmed, has been less than clear with their regional offices, and has no way of checking the status.

Maybe if someone actually gets funding other this or the PPP, they could post and let us know. That would be useful.

Like most everyone else I applied for the COVID-19 EID Loan (Grant). It was easy and I got a application number. What I printed out says that I will be notified through email when they are processing my application. They expect to take about a week. Today 4/17/2020 is 10 days. They ran out of money yesterday or the day before. Not sure if we are all in the pipeline or if there is no money left for everyone that has not heard from SBA. Also $2400 for me and the wife is in limbo. The IRS site for checking where your payment status or location tells me: "Payment Status Not Available. Accourding to Information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligible for a payment at this time." We differently in the guidelines. The IRS website to check is:  https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof-wmsp/login

I will try to update when I hear anything from SBA. I'll look forward to hearing good news from you all.

Our status for the stimulus check shows the same as yours.  I spoke with a CPA this weekend and he told me there was a big debacle (as you would expect with millions of checks going out) with the IRS and a ton of checks were sent to the wrong banks.  Someone got account numbers and routing numbers mixed up, apparently.  So, that may explain why some of us are still in limbo.

The Small Business Association is not taking disaster loan applications under the emergency relief package for Covid19 at this time (4/21/20), because it has run out of money, until it is reauthorized.  If you follow a link embedded in this email train, or anywhere else, that takes you a page asking for your social security number and address, then I suspect it's an attempt to steal your identify. Search independently for the starting point within the government for the emergency loan application.

I applied for the SBA $10,000 Disaster Loan Grant. I received an email from them stating that you will only receive $1000 for each employee listed on your application. Just FYI
