    The Board of Directors of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) is currently accepting applications for the position of Executive Director.

    The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors through the Executive Board and is responsible for building and serving the membership, developing and recommending the business plan and operating budget, providing day-to-day direction to the organization, representing the association to national and state legislative bodies, and interacting with industry and related associations.

    Location of Work

    The Executive Director will be a full-time employee in the NARO national office, located in Tulsa, OK. Some travel will be required and remote working is acceptable with some constraints.

    Desirable Qualifications

    Experience in managing and growing non-profit organizations; a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and five (5) years experience in a supervisory capacity in an administrative or management position. Energy industry experience preferred.

    Job Description

    1. Manage marketing communications

      -Develop and manage marketing programs, resources and materials including the association newsletter, website and social media

      -Public speaking, which may involve travel

      -Effective use of social media and "internet" tools

      -Serve as chief spokesperson for the association, especially in dealing with the media, government entities and the energy industry

      -Provide leadership, support and technical assistance to state chapters

    2. Manage day-to-day business functions of overall organization

      -Develop, recommend and upon approval, implement and administer the annual business plan for the association, the annual operating budget and the policies, initiatives and programs to guide association operations

      -Hire, train and manage the office staff

    3. Build membership base

      -Develop, recommend and implement plans and programs to build the membership base 

      -Plan, organize and manage the annual convention

      -In association with the NARO Foundation, design and implement education and training programs for members

    4. Lobby and promote legislative initiatives at the national and state levels

      -Attend selected conventions and webinars

      -Collaborate effectively with legislators and political groups with aligned interests

    5. Develop and promote effective working relationships within the industry

      -Oil and gas production companies

      -Trade associations

      -Alternative energy groups
